Exeter College is seeking to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Mathematics. This is a fixed-term role, tenable from 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2026.
The Lecturer will be required to undertake 72 ‘weighted’ hours per annum of tutorial or class teaching of undergraduates of the College (or, by exchange, undergraduates of other Colleges). In addition, they will be required to set and mark College examinations, to participate as required in the undergraduate Admissions process and Access/ Outreach activities, and to participate fully in the running of Mathematics within the College.
The postholder will give tutorials and revision classes on the following topics:
- Prelims Probability and Introductory Calculus from paper M3
- Prelims Fourier Series and PDEs from paper M5 and one of the following Part A courses, A8 Probability, A9 Statistics, and A10 Fluids and Waves. The choice of Part A topic depends on student enrolment and will be determined by the senior mathematics tutor.
- Revision of the above courses and either Part A Sort Option Math Modelling Bio or Graph Theory. The choice of Part A topic depends on student enrolment and will be determined by the senior mathematics tutor.
The salary for this appointment will be within a range £8,284 – £9,154 per annum. In addition, a range of other generous benefits are available, as set out in the Further Particulars.
